Marcelo Bielsa: Bristol are a difficult opponent

Head coach on Bristol City.

Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa spoke to the media ahead of Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship clash with Bristol City.

The Whites host Lee Johnson's side at Elland Road and have a good record against the Robins.

Bielsa spoke about team news and opponents Bristol City, who visit West Yorkhsire in decent form.

“There are no new injury concerns ahead of Saturday, everyone who played against Brentford is fit,” said Bielsa.

“Kiko Casilla is going to play and Patrick Bamford as well.

“Bristol City are a team that is in the top part of the table and I think they deserve to be there in a good position.

“They’ve incorporated four players in the starting XI, one of those was a substitute and one more who had left the club.

“They are a difficult opponent as is every team in the Championship and we have to mention they are in a good position.”

Bielsa also spoke about Ian Poveda, who hasn’t been included in the last two squads and explained his decision.

“Poveda is a player who gets his physical fitness quicker.

“He is a light player, with a lot of technical resources.

“He plays in a position where his specific skills are very important.

“He play as a winger and attack and defend, in this sense, he doesn’t need any adaptation.

“I always try to organise the subs with two defenders, two midfielders and two attackers.”
