Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa spoke to the media following Tuesday’s draw with Brentford.

The Whites came from behind to secure a point at Griffin Park, thanks to Liam Cooper’s equaliser in a 1-1 draw.

Bielsa gave his assessment of the performance and was satisfied with the way his side played.

“We defended well,” said Bielsa.

“It was difficult for us to attack, even though we attacked throughout the whole match.

“The players left everything on the pitch, we controlled their attackers well and we managed the ball too.

“This is not easy against a team like Brentford who have good players and also manage the ball well.

“We had a lot of minutes of possession and we thought we could have had more chances with all of the minutes of possession we had, but it was a narrow match, with few chances for both sides.

“I think the team played better on Saturday, but in both matches we defended very well.

“In both matches we created few chances, but against Nottingham, we had more continuity in attack than tonight.”

Bielsa also spoke about goalkeeper Kiko Casilla, whose first half mistake led to Brentford’s goal, insisting the team will rally around him.

He said: “I don’t think Kiko needs my words because I always support him with my decisions.

“I know the human qualities of the players of Leeds and Kiko will receive support from his team-mates and not a loss of confidence from them.”
