Kalvin Phillips: We never fear a team

Leeds United midfielder on 1-1 draw against Brentford

Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips spoke to LUTV following his return to the side in Tuesday night's 1-1 draw with Brentford.

The Whites dominated the game in the capital, with captain Liam Cooper getting on the scoresheet at Griffin Park following Said Benrahma's opener.

Phillips who came back into the side after a three game suspension reflected on his performance, and spoke of his pride in the team.

"I've been raring to go," said Phillips.

"I just wanted to come back and prove a point that I am willing to recover from the red card, and make the club proud.

"From my performance, hopefully I can build on that, and we can go on a good run.

"The team showed desire, grit, and determination to come back, we were on top at the start, and then all throughout, I'm very proud of the lads who put in a good performance.

"We were never going to come here and lie down, although many people thought we would have done.

"We had a lot of comments from the Brentford fans and the Brentford manager, saying that we were fearing them, but we never fear a team going into a game, and I think it showed today.

"We are a very good footballing side, and with the way they play, I think we put a lot of pressure on them.

"We let them talk before the game, and let our performance shut them up."
