Marcelo Bielsa: I am ready to resolve this negative situation

Head coach on Nottingham Forest defeat.

Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa spoke to the media following Saturday’s defeat against Nottingham Forest.

The Whites went down 2-0 at the City Ground after goals in either half by Sammy Ameobi and Tyler Walker.

Bielsa gave his verdict on the result and is determined to oversee a change in recent fortunes for his side.

“The team made a big effort,” said Bielsa.

“What we did wasn’t enough to avoid another defeat.

“We cannot demand more efforts from the players, so clearly it is not player responsibility in this moment.

“It is necessary to say that the responsibility of this moment of the team is my own, because clearly if you have good players and those players give their all on the pitch, the conclusions are clear.

“I understand it is me who has to find the solutions.

“I make a comparison between the tools the opponents had to beat us and ours and after I think we have more resources than the opponent we faced.

“How the team ran and all of the efforts the players did really touched me.

“If you have resources and players who give a big effort and it is not enough and the opponent finds a solution we are not finding, it is not fair to put the responsibility on the players.

“I know this was not a match of 10 chances missed, it was a very close match where neither team had a lot of possibilities.

“What both teams did in attack was quite similar, but of course we needed goals and they scored.

“If we didn’t create the same chances we are used to create, that makes the situation worse.

“For this reason, I feel responsible.

“Of course, I am ready and prepared to give solutions in this moment for Leeds and to overcome the difficulties during all of the Championship to try and resolve this negative situation to a more positive situation.

“I never give up and will always fight, I always believe and keep the faith and always try to find new ways to make the team do better when we play again.”
