Midfielder on Millwall win.
Leeds United midfielder Pablo Hernandez spoke to LUTV following Tuesday’s 3-2 comeback victory over Millwall.
Hernandez's strike got the Whites on level terms mid-way through the second half and he was instrumental in the win.
The Spaniard spoke about the character to come from behind, the importance of his goal and how pleased he was with the three points.
“The confidence is very important, at half time we were losing two-nil but we believed if we played our football with our identity and style we would have chances to score goals,” said Hernandez.
“When you score a goal in the first few minutes of the second half this helped our confidence and we continued fighting.
“It is great because we showed on the pitch, if we play 100 per cent we can win in every game.
“In the second half I played better, I had more contact with the ball- in the first half Millwall were very compact and we had very little space.
“It’s not easy when your opponent defends with all 11 players in one half of the pitch, but this team is ready to face every style of our opponents and we showed very good character.
“This goal was very important as it brought the game to 2-2 and helped the team to continue pushing so it was a good moment for me and the team."
Hernandez also spoke about Saturday's game, where he is hoping the side can make it back to back wins.
He said: “We know Wigan is another important game for us, we play again at home and this is very important for us.
“We need to rest and prepare for the Wigan game, the second half is a good example of what we can do."
