LEWIS SET FOR MALTA STAGE

Young midfielder called up for England...

Midfielder Lewis Cook has been named in the England Under-17s squad for the European Championships in Malta next month.

The 17-year-old, a first-year scholar at the club, has figured regularly for England at youth levels and he is one of only three players at Sky Bet Championship clubs to be named in John  Peacock’s squad.

Lewis has figured regularly for both the Under-21s and the Under-18s this season.

England will play in the tournament’s opening match when they face the host nation Malta at the National Stadium in Ta’Qali at 5pm (BST) on Friday 9 May.

Three days later they tackle Turkey at the Gozo Stadium, kick-off 11.15am, before their final group match sees them pits their wits against Holland at Hibernians Stadium in Paola at 11am on Thursday 15 May.
