Marcelo Bielsa: Blackburn are a team who like to play

Head coach on Blackburn Rovers.

Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa spoke to the media ahead of Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship clash with Blackburn Rovers.

The Whites are looking to continue the recent unbeaten run which now stretches to four games.

A win at Elland Road at the weekend would be a fourth in succession and Bielsa gave an update on team news.

“Eddie is the same as we’ve said before, he has an abdominal injury and week to week we will analyse the recovery of this injury.

“Now is one week, and the medical staff will tell in one more week how he’s progressing.

“In the next seven days I will inform you again.

“Barry Douglas will be available, but Ezgjan Alioski won’t.

“Jamie Shackleton has a muscular problem, but a different injury to before and he’s not going to be available this weekend.”

Leeds dramatically beat Rovers at Elland Road last season 3-2 thanks to two injury time goals and Bielsa also spoke about Saturday’s opponents.

He said: “Blackburn are a team who like to play.

“We can realise the manager values good football and managing the ball.

“I don’t know if these characteristics mean more or less excitement from last season.”
