Leeds hosted Blackburn as Garry Monk’s men looked for their first home win of the season. After a first half with limited chances the Whites took the lead through substitute Chris Wood. Marvin Emnes hit back with a powerful shot from the edge of the box with just 13 minutes to go. However, loanee Kyle Bartley headed home from a floated Alex Mowatt free kick, just before full time. The header gave Leeds a crucial win to move them within five points of the playoffs.

Leeds welcomed Owen Coyle’s Blackburn in Third Round of the League Cup following victories against Luton Town and Fleetwood Town in the previous rounds. In a scrappy affair with minimal goalmouth action Wood was the hero as he headed home late on to set up a Fourth Round clash with Norwich City.
Wednesday, 1 February 2017- Blackburn Rovers 1 Leeds United 2
Leeds travelled to Ewood Park looking for their fourth victory in five games. After a first half that lacked any substantial efforts, the game sprung into life as Leeds took the lead through winger Stuart Dallas in the 74th minute. Elliot Bennett hit back for the hosts with a powerful 20 yard strike. With a minute left on the clock, Pablo Hernandez whipped in a corner and Pontus Jansson rose highest to nod home the winner infront of the 5000 travelling Leeds fans.
Saturday, 20 October 2018- Blackburn Rovers 2 Leeds United 1
Leeds visited Ewood Park with a chance to return to the top of the table, but things started badly as Danny Graham nodded home from a corner after just two minutes. Leeds responded well and Mateusz Klich equalised in added time of the first half. Both teams created a number of chances in the second half but the home side struck with 20 minutes to go from another corner as Darragh Lenihan headed home.
Wednesday, 26 December 2018- Leeds United 3 Blackburn Rovers 2
In this famous Boxing Day fixture Leeds entertained Rovers following an enthralling 3-2 win at Villa Park a few days before. Leeds flew out the traps and took the lead when Derrick Williams sliced Jack Harrison's cross into his own net. Blackburn equalised minutes after the break as Luke Ayling brought down Charlie Mulgrew in the box, he then converted the penalty. The game then took an interesting turn as Mulgrew got his second of the afternoon with a 25 yard free kick in the 90th minute. Kemar Roofe instantly grabbed the equaliser following a goalmouth scramble. Then with seconds to go Hernandez whipped a delightful ball into the box for Roofe to head home the winner and spark wild scenes at Elland Road.
