Marcelo Bielsa: We were more calm

Head coach on QPR win.

Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa spoke to the media following Saturday’s victory over Queens Park Rangers.

The Whites moved back to the top of the Sky Bet Championship, defeating Mark Warburton’s side 2-0 at Elland Road.

Tyler Roberts and Jack Harrison netted in either half and Bielsa was pleased with the overall display.

“It was a great match in attack and defence, both collectively and individually,” said Bielsa.

“In the first half we created complicated play without scoring, but in the end of the first half we could score.

“In the second half it was a regular beginning, we missed some chances until we scored.

“Scoring the second goal, for all of us, it makes us happy.

“We were more calm and if we win by one goal and you have five minutes left everybody is nervous in the stadium.

“We hope that match-to-match we don’t have more of this feeling in the stadium and we try to pass this kind of match where we are winning 1-0, more relaxed and more calm."

Bielsa also spoke about the impact of Jack Harrison who provided an assist, prior to scoring the second goal.

Bielsa said: “He did a lot of effort.

“He played on the left side at full-back, as midfielder and as winger and he has defended and attacked as well.

“He scored the second goal and gave the pass for the first goal and he ran in the corridor a lot both attacking and defending.”
