Luke Ayling signs new deal

Full-back pens new contract.

Leeds United are delighted to announce defender Luke Ayling has today signed a new contract with the club.

The full-back has committed his future at Elland Road, agreeing a new four-year deal, running until the summer of 2023.

The 28-year-old came through the ranks at Arsenal, prior to joining Yeovil Town in 2010.

Ayling helped the Glovers win promotion to the Championship from League One, before joining Bristol City, repeating the same feat with the Robins.

In 2016, Ayling moved to Elland Road from Ashton Gate for an undisclosed fee, establishing himself as a favourite with the fans and in the dressing room.

To date, the right-back has made a total of 116 appearances for Leeds, scoring two goals, which both came last season.

Ayling is yet to feature for the Whites this term due to injury, but could return to the squad for tonight’s fixture with West Bromwich Albion, after featuring three times for the Under-23s in recent weeks.

He becomes the fourth Leeds United first team player to commit his long-term future to the club, after the announcements of Liam Cooper, Stuart Dallas and Kalvin Phillips last month.
