Stuart Dallas: The fans make it sound like a home game

Stuart Dallas speaks to the media after Stoke City win.

Stuart Dallas spoke to LUTV after Leeds United's 3-0 win over Stoke City at the Bet365 Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The defender was the first to score just before the break, giving the Whites a 1-0 lead to take into the second half before Gjanni Alioski and Patrick Bamford made sure the team would be leaving with all three points.

That’s an excellent all round performance isn’t it, Stuart?

“Yeah, it was a good away performance, in the first half we started slowly, giving them a bit of confidence.  You could see that they came out of the blocks quickly and the fans got behind them and we had to weather that storm. We did that and thankfully we were able to get the goal to send us into half time, in front.”

It was a lovely goal, fantastic pass and a great run, so I guess everyone is happy?

“I was just saying, it was probably the first time I really managed to get forward in the first half because I struggled with that sunshine over the far side a bit.  With Pablo Hernandez you know whenever he gets the ball he can come up with that bit of magic and it’s just a pinpoint pass and Pablo does that all the time, there’s probably no better player to have on the ball.”

It was perfect timing for your goal, the perfect platform to build on in the second-half...

“We knew that we could play a lot better than we did in the first half and that if we did step it up a gear that we could get a couple more goals. We knew that it would make it difficult for them if we did get that second goal because the crowd could then start to turn on them. It’s not nice to be in that position that they’re in and we knew we could really punish them and obviously Gjanni has come up with the goal and then Pat has got his as well.”

It has been the perfect start away from home for Leeds, are the team enjoying the experience of  being able to play the way you do away from home?

“It just sounds like a home game when you have an away end like that, it's incredible, they've come here today and they’ve sold out the away section as they do every week and it just sounds like a home game.  As I’ve said, it’s a good away performance for us and it’s a good start for us but one thing we’ve learnt from last year is we can’t look too far forward and I know everyone says it but we’ve got to take one game at a time – and that starts with our next game on Tuesday night.”
