Eddie Nketiah: It’s a dream come true

Leeds United forward on his Elland Road debut

Leeds United striker Eddie Nketiah spoke to LUTV following Wednesday’s 1-0 victory over Brentford.

A crucial late goal from Nketiah sealed Leeds' first home win of the season to ensure the Whites kept their place at the top of the table.

Nketiah spoke about his home debut, his first Championship goal and the Elland Road atmosphere.

“To get the three points, to finally get out there at Elland Road and play in front of the fans it was a dream come true,” said Nketiah.

“It’s a dream come true to have the fans take to you so early on, and I’m going to continue to give my all to this club, so hopefully they’ll appreciate that.

“It was great to get the three points, but to mark it off with a goal I couldn’t be happier. In the games I’ve played so far I feel like I’ve done well and scored in both so that’s all I can do.

“The atmosphere was really good, as soon as you walk out of the tunnel you can hear the fans shouting and screaming, I think it’s really good for the players, it urges us on especially when we need a goal and it gives us that extra energy.

“It was nice to get into the action straight away, for the goal I just wanted to keep up with the play and get myself into the right area. Helder played a great ball and all I had to do was tap it in and I think it’s great we have these relationships early on in the season.

“The team are doing well so far, we all know our targets and aims so it’s important we keep our momentum going.
