Stuart Dallas: We owe them

Winger on Wigan Athletic.

Leeds United winger Stuart Dallas spoke to the media ahead of Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship fixture with Wigan Athletic.

The Whites make the short trip to the DW Stadium, looking to continue an unbeaten start to the campaign.

Northern Ireland international, Dallas, spoke about his start to the season, competition for places and taking motivation from last season’s disappointment.

“I’ve started the season okay, but there is a lot to improve on personally,” said Dallas.

“It’s been a good start for us, obviously we would have liked to have won the game last Saturday, but the squad has taken a lot of positives.

“We’ve hit the ground running so hopefully we can continue to do that, there is healthy competition, as the players who are want to start are pushing everyone else for that starting place.

“We’ve got a good group here and everyone wants success, the game at Salford highlighted that as it was a clinical and professional performance from everyone.”

Dallas also spoke about the disappointment of last season’s fixture with Wigan Athletic.

He said: “There were obviously other games as well as the Wigan game, but definitely it was a big turning point in the season.

“We were one-nil up and cruising and they had a man sent off and we certainly had other chances.

“The boys will be chomping at the bit to get one back over them on Saturday as we definitely owe them.”
