Leeds United midfielder Adam Forshaw spoke to LUTV after Leeds United’s draw with Cagliari Calcio.

A Pablo Hernandez penalty secured Leeds United a 1-1 draw against the Serie A side in Italy.

Forshaw completed the full match and is now raring to go ahead of Sunday’s Sky Bet Championship opener with Bristol City at Ashton Gate.

“It was hot, but it was good to get the 90 minutes in the final week leading into the season,” said Forshaw.

“We’ve come through it with no injuries, so everyone is happy.

“I’m trying contribute as much as possible and just help the team as much as I can and I’m excited, we just want to go one step further than last season now.

“We’ve gained a lot of experience and we’re a lot more aware of how the manager and the staff want us to play.

“We’re a lot more accustomed to it now and hopefully we can implement that and have a successful season.

“Bristol City will be a tough game they’re a good side who did well last season, they just missed out on the Play-Offs.

“Everyone poses their own threats in the Championship, it’s about whoever has prepared best and who turns up on the day.”
