Winger on Guiseley win.
Leeds United winger Jack Clarke spoke to LUTV following Thursday’s pre-season victory over Guiseley.
The Whites came from behind at Nethermoor Park, with second half goals from Helder Costa and Mateusz Bogusz securing a comeback 2-1 win.
Clarke featured for 90 minutes in the match along with the majority of the side involved and he highlighted the importance of games like this.
“After a long summer it was really nice to get back on the pitch and perform in front of the fans, it was really enjoyable,” said Clarke.
“For me games are the biggest factor in pre-season, I feel like that is where you get your sharpness, touch, movement and everything back to how it should be.
“The running is to get you fit and we’ve all definitely looked forward to the matches rather than the running.
“We need to get as close to match fitness as possible before the first game of the season.
“We’re getting used to playing with each other as players again and getting to know the new players who have come into the camp and how they play, along with what the manager and staff want.”
