Several Leeds United players represented their respective countries over the latest international break, here we take a look at how they got on...

Mateusz Klich has the bragging rights over Leeds team-mate Ezgjan Alioski after Poland narrowly defeated Macedonia 1-0 in Euro 2020 qualification Group G last Thursday.  Alioski played the full match, with Klich completing 89 minutes, with the duo exchanging shirts at full time.  Klich played a further 75 minutes on Monday as Poland beat Israel 4-0, whilst Alioski completed another full match, but couldn’t prevent Macedonia from going down 4-1 at home to Austria.  Poland now top the group after four wins from four, with Macedonia second bottom in fifth.

Northern Ireland duo Bailey Peacock-Farrell and Stuart Dallas both helped the Green and White Army record two victories to stay at the top of Group C.  Both players completed 90 minutes in last Saturday’s 2-1 comeback victory against Estonia in Tallin. On Tuesday, Peacock-Farrell played the full match and Dallas was a 56^th minute substitute as Michael O’Neill’s side recorded a 1-0 away win against Belarus.  Alfie McCalmont also joined Northern Ireland’s training camp, alongside Peacock-Farrell and Dallas.

Pontus Jansson played 180 minutes for Sweden.  Last Friday he helped his country record a 3-0 win against Malta 3-0 at the Friends Arena in Stockholm, but couldn’t help Sweden from suffering a 3-0 away loss against Spain on Monday.  Sweden now sit in second spot behind Spain in Group F, following the two results.

At Under-21 level Niall Huggins made his Wales debut from the bench in the first game of their double header with Albania.  Wales were beaten 2-1 in that match on Sunday and Huggins was an unused substitute as Wales went down 3-1 on Tuesday.  Aapo Halme represented Finland but couldn’t prevent defeats against Macedonia and Sweden.  Kun Temenuzhkov featured for Bulgaria.  In the first of the two matches they were defeated on penalties by Israel after a 1-1 draw and in their second hosted Cyprus and narrowly beat them 1-0 despite finishing the game with nine men.

Tom Pearce and Jamie Shackleton were both selected for England’s Under-20s Toulon Tournament squad, but the Three Lions exited at the group stage.  Mateusz Bogusz was also selected to play for Poland in the Under-20s World Cup, helping his country reach the quarter final stage.
