Marcelo Bielsa: We needed to take advantage of our moments in the game

Head coach on Birmingham City defeat.

Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa spoke to the media following Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship defeat against Birmingham City.

A Che Adams first half strike proved to be the difference at St Andrew’s, with Birmingham completing a league double over the Whites.

The result saw Leeds slip to third place in the Sky Bet Championship, one point behind Sheffield United and the Whites head coach gave his verdict on the game.

“We could have drawn the game, we could have lost the game by more goals and we could have won the game too,” said Bielsa.

“In the moments of the game that we could control, we couldn’t make chances.

“In attack we had a lot of time on the ball but we didn’t have enough balance.

“We couldn’t create the difference in the result and they started to play a style of game that was hard for us to solve.

“We didn’t take advantage of the chances we created, but we didn’t create a lot of chances and we couldn’t show the difference between the two teams.

“When we had the ball, we should have created more chances, in five chances they scored one goal, we created the same number of chances and could not score.

“We needed to take more advantage of our moments in the game, but at the same time they could have scored more goals.”
