Patrick Bamford: We have to focus on the next game

Striker on Sheffield United defeat.

Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford spoke to LUTV following Saturday’s defeat against Sheffield United.

The Whites slipped to third in the Sky Bet Championship table, after the Blades ended Leeds’ three game winning streak.

Bamford was disappointed with the result and felt the Whites were worthy of at least a point.

“I thought we played really well, we dominated the game and we should have been 3-0 up in the first half,” said Bamford.

“It was one of them where if we didn’t stick our chances away, if we made a mistake they would capitalise on it.

“We felt we should have won, so to not come away with anything is very frustrating.

“It is done now, we have to carry on and focus on the next game.

“All of the cameras and focus was on this game, but it doesn’t change anything for us.

“If we had won, we would have still have had to win the majority of the eight games remaining and we still need to do that.

“For once the pressure is taken off us, we are no longer in the driving seat, us and Norwich have been in the top two places, but Sheffield haven’t had that pressure yet, they have always been the underdog and it will be interesting to see how they deal with it.

“The majority of the focus is going to be on the other two teams and hopefully we can do our business and get on with it, with a little less focus.”
