MARCELO BIELSA: WE ARE FOCUSED ON WINNING

Head coach on Bolton Wanderers.

Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa spoke to the media ahead of Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship fixture with Bolton Wanderers.

The Whites return to action at Elland Road against the Trotters, beginning a run of three games in the space of a week.

After not playing last weekend Leeds slipped to third place with a game in hand, but a win could take the Whites back to the summit.

Bielsa, though, is not expecting an easy afternoon on Saturday, despite Bolton’s league position.

“In the games it can be difficult to see the differences in the table ranking,” said Bielsa.

“If we have a look at the table, you would think Birmingham couldn’t lose against Bolton and yet Bolton won.

“You have opposite examples as well, but the norm in the Championship is that you won’t have any team that will beat an opponent easily.

“In any case it is important for us to get points.

“The final games we have to play are very important, each of them.

“We don’t feel any obligation to get points because the rivals have positive results and we don’t feel that we don’t have the duty to win when the direct rivals don’t win their games.

“All the points at stake will have a significant importance.

“I think there is an expectancy due to the fact Norwich City won 4-0 against Bolton Wanderers.

“We are focused on winning, that is our first goal, we are then focused on deserving to win and we will try to get the most important difference possible.”
