Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa spoke to the media following Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough.

The Whites came from behind as Kalvin Phillips’ 101^st minute goal secured Leeds a point in the Sky Bet Championship.

Jack Clarke was taken unwell in the 82^nd minute of the match on the Leeds United bench and Bielsa began by giving an update on the situation.

“What we know is that he didn’t feel well and we don’t really know the reasons yet,” said Bielsa.

“When he was taken to the dressing room he was better and he was taken to hospital to see if he is alright.”

The Leeds head coach then spoke about the match itself, believing his side was worthy of at least a point.

“The beginning of the first half, the end of the first half and the second half was good.

“We had a moment in the first half, where we suffered with mid-distance finishing and some set-pieces and the opponent was dangerous.

“We could have won the game, you can take into account 15 minutes where we were not at ease, but apart from this segment I think we dominated the game, created chances, deserved to score the goal and probably deserved to score other goals as well.

“We were always playing in the opponents box, but we couldn’t finish our attacks.

“We didn’t lose the ball before arriving to the box, so this made me think we could score a goal.”

Bielsa also had praise for Pablo Hernandez, who was introduced at the break.

“Pablo makes the game more fluid, he has the skill to put the ball in the zone where it is more difficult for the opponent to recover it.

“He has a very clear reading of the game and when you have games like this one, his calmness and energy helped us a lot.”
