Five key points ahead of Stoke City.

Following Marcelo Bielsa's press conference ahead of Saturday's trip to Stoke City, we look at five key points made by the Leeds United head coach.

Reflecting on the first game of the season against Stoke City...

“There was a lot of enthusiasm for that game, our team wanted to show its skills.  The fans wanted to see a game against a team who played in the Premier League last year.  It was an important win, apart from the three points.”

On his team selection for the trip to the Bet 365 Stadium...

“We prepared the game taking into account the starting 11 of the opponent and taking that into account, our starting 11 will be the following... Bailey Peacock-Farrell, Luke Ayling, Pontus Jansson Liam Cooper, Ezgjan Alioski, Adam Forshaw, Mateusz Klich, Pablo Hernandez, Jack Clarke, Kemar Roofe and Jack Harrison.”

On Saturday's opponents...

“We can’t have any doubt about the quality of the players who play for Stoke.  My point of view is not important, you just have to look at the games they play.  It is a team which has the skills to have a higher rank than the one they have now.”

On Stoke City's new manager Nathan Jones...

“Head coaches express themselves through the games of their teams.  You have head coaches who give traditional answers with common things, not new things.  You have inventive head coaches and I think he is a head coach that has creativity, he is not a traditional head coach.”

On injuries...

“Gaetano Berardi will play next Monday and if everything goes well he will be in the squad for the next game.  Stuart Dallas started the training sessions with the group on Thursday and Barry Douglas will do the same on Friday.  They won’t play next Monday, but they will play the Under-23 game after that.  If everything goes well they will then be in the squad.  It will be the same for Patrick Bamford, maybe he will need a little bit more time.”
