MARCELO BIELSA: THE FANS HAVE NEVER SUPPORTED US AS MUCH

Head coach on Derby County win.

Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa spoke to the media ahead of Friday’s 2-0 victory over Derby County.

A goal from Kemar Roofe and Jack Harrison in either half got Leeds back to winning ways after three straight losses.

The Whites were backed by over 34,500 at Elland Road and Bielsa was full of praise for the supporters and the atmosphere they created.

“It was really a very complete game,” said Bielsa.

“The fans have never supported us as much as they did on Friday night.

“I think the fans understood it was a very important game, so they gave us all of their support.

“The team understood the importance of this game and they united with the fans, the team behaved in a way, which made them deserving of the support of the fans.

“The win is very important.”

Bielsa also spoke about the influence of midfielder Adam Forshaw in the match.

He said: “Adam Forshaw is a player that when we have to defend is the first one to defend.

“When we have to keep the ball and not lose it, he is the first one to do this.

“He is also a player with a strong character, a strong personality and he also gives the example to his team mates and the fans.”
