Kemar Roofe scored two injury time goals in an unbelievable turnaround, to secure Leeds United all three points against Blackburn Rovers at Elland Road.

Head coach Marcelo Bielsa named the same team that started the 3-2 victory against Aston Villa on Sunday, for the visit of Tony Mowbray’s side.

Luke Ayling, who returned from injury at Villa Park on Sunday was first to go close, he hit a long range effort, but his attempt went narrowly wide of the right post.

Blackburn went close in the 19^th minute when Danny Graham teed up Jack Rodwell, he fired a volley at goal from 25 yards, but like Ayling saw his effort go just wide of the mark.

Pablo Hernandez played Kemar Roofe in at goal for Leeds as the Whites looked to get in front, but he couldn’t beat Blackburn goalkeeper David Raya in a race to the ball.

Ezgjan Alioski then smashed an effort at goal which was heading for the top corner, but for a fine save from Raya.

Hernandez drove his way into the Blackburn area before striking at goal, but he saw his attempt deflect wide for a corner.

Leeds took the lead in the 33^rd minute.  Following some good build up play, Jack Harrison got to the byline and his cut back was turned in by Blackburn defender Derrick Williams.

Three minutes later, Leeds almost doubled the lead.  Barry Douglas found Alioski in the area and his effort cannoned out off the crossbar and neither Harrison nor Roofe could turn in the rebound.

Alioski then tried an acrobatic effort from the edge of the box, but he couldn’t get the better of Raya, as Leeds had to settle for a one goal lead at the break.

Less than a minute into the second half, Blackburn were awarded a penalty.  Charlie Mulgrew was brought down by Ayling in the box and he then stepped up and made no mistake with the spot kick.

Leeds looked to regain the lead and went close moments later, Ayling put in a good cross from the right, but Hernandez at full stretch at the back post was unable to get on the end of it.

Alioski struck an effort from 25 yards, but he couldn’t get the better of Raya who made a good low stop.

Klich then tried a curling effort from the edge of the box which was well saved by Raya, before the visitors went close at the other end when Harrison Reed teed up Adam Armstrong, but his strike was superbly blocked by Kalvin Phillips.

Roofe then had two opportunities from crosses in the box but couldn’t get on either, before Barry Douglas fired an effort over the bar.

Klich saw another strike from the edge of the box go wide, before there were big appeals for a Leeds penalty.  A Hernandez strike appeared to hit a Blackburn arm, but the referee waved away the protests and following on, a Roofe header forced a fine save from Raya.

Forshaw saw a long range effort saved before the visitors took the lead in the 90^th minute.  Phillips brought down Blackburn substitute Joe Rothwell just over 30 yards from goal and Mulgrew found the net from the set-piece.

Leeds didn’t give up though and less than a minute later the Whites were level.  Pontus Jansson was denied by Raya following a Forshaw cross, Hernandez was then superbly denied by the rebound, but the Blackburn stopper couldn’t prevent Roofe from scoring the third attempt, with the goal-line decision system ruling the ball had crossed the line.

And if you thought the draw was good enough for Leeds- you thought wrong, as in the final seconds of stoppage time, Hernandez whipped in a delightful cross from the right and Roofe superbly headed home, to spark mass celebrations at Elland Road and secure Leeds all three points for a seventh game in a row.
