MARCELO BIELSA: THE SOLUTIONS ARE ALLOWING US TO STAY OPTIMISTIC

Head coach on QPR.

Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa spoke to the media ahead of Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship fixture with Queens Park Rangers.

The Whites are looking for a third win in a row in the division and three points could take Leeds back to the top of the table.

Bielsa’s side have been plagued by injury this season, with Liam Cooper and Stuart Dallas the latest to be struck and he spoke about the situation.

“I am sure I have done something wrong because god is punishing me,” said Bielsa.

“When Luke Ayling , got injured, Stuart Dallas played and now Jamie Shackleton who will play.

“Thanks to the work the Academy have done for the first team, we have solved the absences in one way or another.

“Of course we are aware of the type of player we are losing and the solutions we are finding allow us to stay optimistic.

“The youngsters that are among the first team have contributed a lot to the resolution of our needs.

“I am happy for the young players and the Academy as it is an important part of the club.

“We are demanding much of the youngsters and the preparation of a youngster is more flexible than that of an experienced player.

“The fact that we are very demanding with them allows them to be part of the first team, which is a very positive message.

“The experienced players have a knowledge when choosing amongst the youngsters they want to have in the first team and for me, the support that the youngsters get from our experienced players is very positive.

“Youngsters need to have the approval of experienced players to fit well into the first team.”
