BAILEY PEACOCK-FARRELL: IT WAS MY TIME TO STEP UP

Goalkeeper on Reading win.

Leeds United goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell spoke to LUTV following Tuesday’s victory against Reading.

The Whites recorded back to back victories in the Sky Bet Championship, with Stuart Dallas’ second half effort enough to secure Leeds all three points.

There was however late drama in the match, with Reading awarded a penalty in the 89th minute and a dramatic save from Peacock-Farrell, denied the Royals a point.

The Whites shot stopper was delighted with the result and the penalty save.

“It feels great, to get back to back wins is a massive step in the right direction,” said Peacock-Farrell.

“In this league you have to build momentum and that is how you climb the table really quickly.

“When we are playing games at home, they are must win and if we are doing that it is half the battle.

“The penalty was one of those where I thought it was my time to step up, I had to make the decision to make to try and save the team and thankfully I guessed right.

“I thought he made my mind up quite early with the way his body shape was.

“Obviously in the heat of things you have lots to think about, in terms of where his last penalty was, his body shape and all these little things add up to a decision.

“We’ve been performing well in terms of results and we need to maintain that now.”
