KALVIN PHILLIPS: WE WANT TEAMS TO BE SCARED TO COME HERE

Midfielder on Bristol City win.

Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips spoke to LUTV following Saturday’s win over Bristol City.

Phillips kept up his ever present record for the Whites this season, helping the side record a 2-0 win over the Robins.

The 22-year-old was pleased to pick up another three points, United’s ninth league win of the campaign.

“It was difficult, Bristol are a very good team,” said Phillips.

“They came here and tried to play a bit of football, which they succeeded with in the first half, but in the second half we put them under a lot of pressure and got the result.

“The red card obviously helped us, with a man light Bristol were always going to struggle against a team like us.

“We were very disappointed after the West Brom game, so we were very happy to get the win on Saturday.

“We’ve spoken for a long time about making Elland Road a fortress and we want teams to be scared to come here.

“After the work we did, with how we pressed and won the ball back from Bristol I think they were shook and towards the end of the second half, it was a quality show.

“We’ve been encouraging the young lad and I thought Will Huffer and Aapo Halme did really well.

“We’ll keep moving forward now and move onto the game with Reading.”
