LIAM COOPER: WE’RE LOOKING FORWARD TO THE GAME

Skipper on Blackburn Rovers trip.

Leeds United captain Liam Cooper spoke exclusively to LUTV ahead of Saturday’s trip to Blackburn Rovers.

The Whites head to Ewood Park undefeated in their last three matches prior to the October international break.

With no club football last weekend with several countries in action in the UEFA Nations League, Cooper can’t wait to get going again and is optimistic the Whites can come away with victory.

“We’re looking forward to the game now," said Cooper

"We didn’t have a great month by our standards, there were not enough points accumulated, but we will go again on Saturday at Blackburn and hopefully we can get a positive result.

“I think we’ve performed well in 70-80 per cent of the games, but we can always improve, as I said we didn’t get enough points previously and we will be looking to put that right in the period until the next international break.

“We have a few lads back and it is nice to see their faces back on the training pitch, there is real competition for places and that is how it should be at this club.

“Ewood Park is always a hard place to go, it is an early kick-off and we are taking 7,500-8,000 fans, they always travel in their numbers and are always great for us, hopefully we can put on a Leeds display and a proper Leeds performance and that should be enough to get us the three points.

“You always want to send the fans home happy, it makes our lives a lot easier when we come away with the three points, it makes all of the hard work worth it.

“We just have to be ourselves, do what we do best and everything else will take care of itself.”
