BAILEY PEACOCK-FARRELL: A PROMISING START

Goalkeeper on Derby County.

Leeds United shot stopper Bailey Peacock-Farrell spoke to the media ahead of Saturday’s trip to Derby County.

Both the Whites and the Rams started the season off with a win and both sides will be looking for back to back victories at Pride Park.

Peacock-Farrell was pleased with the opening game performance against Stoke City and is hoping for more of the same.

“I know what the boys are capable of and we’ve been working the way we play for the six weeks of pre-season,” said Peacock-Farrell.

“I think we showed this really well against Stoke City, with our one-two movements, on and off the ball it was a really good display.

“It is nice to see hard work paying off, we were really pleased we could transfer our methods onto the pitch because doing it in training, to doing it on gameday is completely different scenario and we were happy we could do that, but we have to do it for the full season and that is the real test.

“It was a promising start, when the fixtures got announced and we had an ex Premier League team on the first day, we were all thinking this is our chance to make a statement and put a marker down for the rest of the league.

“To play against the calibre of players that Stoke have, we were the better side and I think that shows the level we are at, at the moment.

“If we can maintain that performance throughout the whole season, the possibilities are endless.

“All the players have bought into Marcelo’s way of playing, we trust him and we can see it works.

“Derby County looked strong in their first match and we’re coming up against a manager who has done everything you could possibly dream of in the game as a player.

“It will be another tough test and it will be exciting to compete against them and see where we are.”
