MARCELO BIELSA: DERBY COUNTY DESERVE SPECIAL RESPECT

Head coach on Derby Country fixture.

Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa spoke to the media ahead of Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship clash with Derby County.

The Whites are looking to open the season with back to back victories, following the impressive 3-1 win over Stoke City at Elland Road last Sunday.

Bielsa is now hoping his side can replicate a similar performance to the one shown against the Potters at Pride Park on Saturday evening.

“The intensity (shown against Stoke City) is something we want and hopefully we can do this in every game,” said Bielsa.

“The game was a stable match, we dominated during the most parts of the game and respected our philosophy of play.

“The two aspects that characterise us are that we get the ball back very fast and we make many passes from the back, before finishing the action- I look at these two aspects and if we respect them, I can get an idea of the level of the team.

“Each rival challenges us in the way we want to play, Saturday is a different game because it is an away game, it is not a home game, but we will try to repeat the best moments of our first game and make these best moments longer moments.

“We will see if we can repeat what we did during the home game and our intentions are the same.

“The head coach of Derby is a glory of English football and this has a big influence of the team.

“Derby County is one of the six most important teams in the Championship, all opponents deserve to be respected, but Derby County deserve special respect.”
