BARRY DOUGLAS SIGNS FOR LEEDS UNITED

Left-back completes Whites move.

Leeds United are delighted to confirm the signing of Barry Douglas from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The 28-year-old left-back joins the club for an undisclosed fee and has signed a three year contract at Elland Road.

Douglas made his breakthrough with Scottish outfit Queens Park, before joining Dundee United.

He then moved to Lech Poznan where he spent two and a half years, winning the Ekstraklasa and the Polish Super Cup.

A stint with Konyaspor followed where he played in the UEFA Europa League, before heading to Molineux to join Wolves last summer.

In his first season in English football, Douglas made 42 appearances in all competitions, as Nuno Espírito Santo’s side won the Sky Bet Championship.

He was one of the stars of the division as Wolves gained promotion to the Premier League, with 14 assists and no other player in the league provided more.

Douglas also netted five goals during the campaign, including a spectacular free-kick against the Whites in Wolves’ 4-1 victory at Molineux last November.

His impressive performances saw him earn a first international cap for Scotland, when they played Hungary in March of this year.

Douglas becomes Leeds United’s first permanent transfer of the summer, following the loan arrivals of Jamal Blackman and Lewis Baker and will wear the number three shirt during his time at Elland Road.
