TOM PEARCE SIGNS NEW CONTRACT

Full-back agrees new deal

Leeds United can today announce Tom Pearce has signed a new contract with the club.

Pearce’s current deal was due to expire this summer, but he has now committed his future to the club, by agreeing fresh terms.

The left-back has put pen to paper on a new four year deal, which runs until the summer of 2022.

Pearce joined Leeds United back in 2014 after being released by Premier League side Everton.

The 20-year-old has progressed through the Academy at Thorp Arch and last season shone at Under-23 level.

Pearce’s performances for the Under-23s led to a senior debut in March’s Yorkshire derby against Sheffield Wednesday.

Following his first outing, Pearce went onto make four further appearances and scored his first goal for the Whites in the 2-1 victory over Barnsley in April.

His performances for the Whites have led to Pearce being included in the England Under-21s squad for the Toulon Tournament.

He becomes the latest player to sign a new deal with the club recently, following the announcements of Pablo Hernandez, Bryce Hosannah and Oriol Rey.
