JOSH WARRINGTON: I AM READY TO LIFT THE TITLE

Leeds Warrior confident of beating Lee Selby.

Josh Warrington and Lee Selby were both at Elland Road on Tuesday for their press conference ahead of their highly anticipated showdown for the IBF Featherweight World Championship.

Warrington who will have the home crowd behind him on Saturday is looking to dethrone current champion Selby, in one of the biggest sporting events of the summer.

The Leeds Warrior is pleased with his preparations and can’t wait to fight at the home of Leeds United.

“I’m relaxed, in the last few months I have really put my body through hell and given absolutely everything, every time I have gone into the gym.

“After all those years and all the talk of me and Lee Selby fighting, and it all comes down to this camp.

“Saturday is going to be a magnificent event, we are going to be blessed with nice weather, we have the Chief returning home and the Kaiser Chiefs playing us out to add to that special atmosphere.

“I’ve always said I wanted to fight for a world title at Elland Road, it has all fallen into place and all I have to do now is go into the ring and do the business on Saturday and Leeds will have its first world champion.

“The fans have turned out in their numbers and I can’t thank them enough, they have supported me on this journey and this is for them as well as me.

“I’ve dreamt about this moment many times, I am ready to go now, I’ve been written off constantly, but I’ve carried on going and the fans have stuck behind me.

“Lee cannot prepare for what will happen on Saturday, with myself, the crowd, the atmosphere and I certainly feed off that energy.

“Walking into a crowd like this is a different, we do things differently in Leeds.

“The world title is here now and it is here to stay, no matter what happens after Saturday night, I will always be there in the history books as Leeds’ first world champion, so it is something to be proud of.

“I just want to get in the ring and do the business and I am ready to lift that title above my head.”
