Rey has signed fresh terms with the Whites, committing his future to Leeds until the end of the 2019/20 season.

The talented Spanish 20-year-old midfielder joined the club from La Liga giants Barcelona last summer.

During his first season with the club, he has been a regular for Carlos Corberan’s Under-23 side, making 30 appearances and scoring two goals in the Professional Development League.

Rey has featured in the first team squad this season, but is yet to make his full debut and will be hoping to emulate the likes of Bailey Peacock-Farrell, Paudie O’Connor and Tom Pearce, who have all recently broken into the senior team from the Academy.

He has been part of the squad currently on the AYA Bank Tour of Myanmar and featured in both friendly games for Paul Heckingbottom’s side against Myanmar’s national team and the Myanmar National League All-Stars.

Rey becomes the second young player to commit his future to the Whites this month, with fellow Under-23s regular Bryce Hosannah also penning new two year deal.
