PAUL HECKINGBOTTOM: WE WILL ALWAYS BE JUDGED ON THE PITCH

Head coach on Norwich City trip.

Leeds United head coach Paul Heckingbottom is hoping his side can back up last weekend’s victory over Barnsley on Saturday.

The Whites travel to Carrow Road looking for back to back wins in the Sky Bet Championship.

The trip to the south east is United’s last away game of the campaign and the Leeds head coach revealed a number of players could be back in contention following injury.

“It was satisfying to get the three points last Saturday, our job was to win the game and I am delighted we did it,” said Heckingbottom.

“We will always be judged on the pitch and everyone has a role to play in improving the first team.

“I am really clear in my mind now of what needs to happen here for us to get better, achieve things and out fight teams in this league.

“Luke Ayling has been back in training for a couple of days which is good, touch wood everything has been fine.

“It is nice to have him there, it is nice to have his voice on the training ground and I know he is delighted to be back training because it has been a long road back for him.

“Adam Forshaw has two weeks of training under his belt now and has had 20 minutes on the pitch.

“Day by day he will be getting better and better, but a big part of Adam’s game his energy and fitness, so if we put him out there on Saturday, we need to make sure he is ready and can perform."
