BAILEY PEACOCK-FARRELL: WE ARE DISAPPOINTED

Goalkeeper on Aston Villa defeat.

Leeds United goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell spoke exclusively to LUTV following Friday’s defeat at Aston Villa.

The Whites stopper produced a man of the match performance at Villa Park, but despite his efforts saw Leeds leave empty handed.

Lewis Grabban’s first half goal proved to be the difference in a narrow affair and Peacock-Farrell was unhappy the side were not able to come away with at least a point.

“We are very disappointed, we know we are capable of beating these teams and playing good football, so to be underachieving is disappointing,” said Peacock-Farrell.

“When it is one nil you are always in the game, regardless of how you are performing in that moment.

“It only takes one ball into the box and one knock down and you are back in the game and the match gets turned on its head, but we didn’t get that.

“I thought Aston Villa defended really well, in the second half they held their shape and tried to get us on the counter attack.

“There are marginal differences and this is why the Championship is such a tough league, the teams that are up in the Play-Offs are grinding out results without blowing teams away and that is what we need to do.

“I’m happy with how I’m doing, but I just want to win games as we all do as a team and when we don’t it doesn’t matter how you are performing personally.

“We want to finish the season well and send the fans away on a high and most importantly we need a win.”
