A honour to lead the team out at Elland Road.
Yorkshire born Liam Cooper has seen it all.
Making his debut at Anfield at 16 and marking Fernando Torres, Cooper then had to earn his stripes the hard way by dropping down to League Two with Chesterfield, who he led back to League One.
All of this has all led to the proudest moments of his career so far, here at Leeds United.
“There is no better feeling than leading my team out at Elland Road,” said Cooper.
“It’s an honour to play for a club like this, let alone wear the arm band, but the feeling you get when you come out the tunnel and hear a full Elland Road is another level.
“The fans are honest - they tell you when they like something and we know about it when they are not happy too!
“The relationship with our supporters is special and I’m proud to be their captain.”
