RUGBY LEAGUE RETURNS TO ELLAND ROAD

RUGBY LEAGUE RETURNS TO ELLAND ROAD

Five great reasons to attend!

Leeds Rhinos are gearing up for a huge Super League fixture at Elland Road on Friday against local rivals, Castleford Tigers, kick off 7.45pm.

Here are five reasons why you won’t want to miss this match:

1.       The Rivalry. It’s been huge between Leeds and Castleford in recent years, and as far as local derbies go, this one promises to be great contest. This will be the first time the two sides have faced each other in a Super League match since the epic 2017 Grand Final.

2.       The History. This year marks the 30 year anniversary of the 1988 Yorkshire Cup, which took place at Elland Road and saw Leeds lift the trophy following an impressive 33-12 victory over Castleford.

3.       The Record. Elland Road is a world-famous sporting venue, steeped in history and legacy. With a bumper crowd already expected, we’re trying to make the game one for the history books and break the record for the highest attendance at a Super League match.

4.       The Success. Elland Road holds a special place in Rhinos history. Leeds have lifted the World Club trophy on two occasions at Elland Road back in 2005 and 2008.

5.       The Expansion. The Rhinos family goes way beyond the first team, and we’ll be introducing all of our partner teams to our fans at the Elland Road game. At half time we’ll be showcasing the Leeds Rhinos Under 19s and Under 16 Academy teams, the newly formed Rhinos Women’s team, Physical Disability RL team and Leeds Rhinos Netball team.
