PONTUS JANSSON: A STEP FORWARD

Defender on Reading draw.

Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson feels the side can take positives from Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Reading.

The Whites arrested a run of back to back 3-0 defeats, by picking up a point at the Madejski Stadium in the Sky Bet Championship.

Jansson was back on the score-sheet in the draw and spoke about the game and the aims for the rest of the campaign.”

“I was pleased with my goal, it came in a good situation, with us being one nil down,” said Jansson.

“I think after that we played better, we grew into the game and the second half was better.

“It is frustrating not to come away with three points, but I think it was a step forward for us.

“We had a good talk after the game against Wolves in the week and we have just one win in 2018 and that feels so bad.

“I’m a winner, we want to win games and having just one win in 2018, you feel frustrated personally and as a team, but I thought we deserved three points against Reading.

“We can’t think about the Play-Offs anymore, we have to take it game by game and people have to show and prove if they want to play for Leeds, by performing well on the pitch.

“Leeds deserve to be higher and especially our fans who support us every game, they deserve more.

“We always try to do our best, sometimes in football it might not look like that, but I promise we work hard and have good discussions every day about this.

“We really want to take Leeds back to where it belongs in the Premier League, if people want to stay here, they have to prove it.”
