PAUL HECKINGBOTTOM: WE HAVE TO BE CLINICAL

Head coach on Wolves.

Leeds United head coach Paul Heckingbottom spoke exclusively to LUTV ahead of Wednesday’s Sky Bet Championship fixture with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Whites are looking to bounce back at Elland Road against the league leaders, following last Friday’s 3-0 defeat at Middlesbrough.

Heckingbottom is excited about the clash and believes he will learn a lot about his side in the fixture.

“Everyone is looking forward to this game, everyone wants to play against the team at the top of the league,” said Heckingbottom.

“We are at Elland Road under the lights, the Sky cameras are there, it is a big occasion and a big game for us.

“We want to win the game and we want a performance, this game will tell me a lot, so I’m looking forward to it.

“Wolves are a good side, they have threats all over and they sit rightly at the top of the league.

“Despite recent results, over their recent games, Wolves could easily have won every one.

“We have to perform well to stand a chance and we have to be clinical in both boxes.

“We need to restrict them as much as we can and any opportunities that we do get, we need to be taking them.”

Heckingbottom also gave an injury update, with good news on Spanish midfielder Pablo Hernandez.

He said: “Pablo is back, he has returned to training, everyone else is as they were.

“There is a lot to consider with the team, we aren’t coming into the game on the back of a good performance where you are thinking everyone deserves another chance.

“It is another opportunity to learn about the players, we are playing against a team with a different set-up and style.”
