EUNAN O’KANE: WE GOT WHAT WE DESERVED

Midfielder on Middlesbrough defeat.

Leeds United midfielder Eunan O’Kane spoke to the media following Friday’s defeat at Middlesbrough.

The Whites suffered a 3-0 defeat at the Riverside Stadium, ending a run of three games without defeat in the Sky Bet Championship.

O’Kane admitted the Whites were way off the performance levels required to get a positive result against Tony Pulis’ side.

“We were second best for the whole night and we deserved to be beaten,” said O’Kane.

“Maybe they could have scored a few more goals, it was a very deflating performance from us and I think we got what we deserved out of the game which was nothing.

“I can’t argue with anything the gaffer has said, the evidence is there for everyone to see, they out fought us and out battled us and have got their rewards.

“I wish I could explain why, but we will go back to the drawing board, look back at the game and see where we could have been better.

“Without seeing the goals back, I don’t think Middlesbrough have had to work awfully hard for them.

“We were poor and the criticism we will get is just and we have to take it on the chin and make sure it doesn’t happen again.

“Overall it is really disappointing from our point of and we have to be better going forwards.

“I hope we can give a much better account of ourselves when we play Wolves on Wednesday night.”
