RHINOS DUO EXCITED FOR THURSDAY’S CLASH

Rugby league set for Elland Road.

Leeds Rhinos duo Jamie Jones-Buchanan (pictured above) and Stevie Ward can’t wait for Thursday’s Super League tie at Elland Road.

The 2017 Grand Final Winners will entertain newly promoted Hull Kingston Rovers at the home of Leeds United and the Rhinos trained at the stadium on Wednesday ahead of Thursday's encounter.

It marks the first ‘home’ game of the season for the Rhinos as they look for back to back victories after kicking off the new season with a win.

“It is exciting for us coming to Elland Road as our ground at Headingley gets rebuilt,” said Jones-Buchanan.

“We love playing here, it is like our sister club and there are a lot of Leeds United supporters in the side.

“Pre-season has been really intense, we had a big game at Warrington last week and we got the win and played really well.

“We need to continue to hit the ground running, this is a big game against Hull KR and we’re also welcoming former team-mate Danny McGuire back, so it is going to be exciting and a good environment all around.

“I hope a few Leeds United fans who may not usually watch rugby league, will come down and see what it is like.”

Fellow team-mate Stevie Ward is also set to make his first appearance for the Rhinos this season after missing last Thursday’s trip across the Pennines.

Ward said: “It is a bit of a comeback for me after the Grand Final last year and I’m really excited to play at Elland Road.

“I’ve been in the stands a lot of times as a supporter and I’m ready to experience the atmosphere on the field, everyone is looking forward to it.

“It is very nostalgic for me, remembering the days of Alan Smith and Mark Viduka and I’m really glad to be playing here.

“I think the games against Hull KR on Thursday and Castleford Tigers later in the season at Elland Road will be great and I urge people to get down."

Tickets are still available for Thursday’s game and Leeds United Members and Season Ticket Holders can claim discount until midnight on Wednesday evening, with prices at a special rate of £15 adults, £10 concessions and £5 juniors aged 16 and under.
