ANDY LONERGAN: I WANT TO FIGHT FOR MY PLACE

Goalkeeper on speculation.

Leeds United goalkeeper Andy Lonergan has spoken to the official website, following speculation of a move on transfer deadline day. 

The Whites stopper admitted there was interest and an opportunity to leave the club, but opted to remain at Elland Road.

He said: “I got an offer which would have provided more stability for me and my family, but in the end it didn’t feel right. 

“I want to stay at Leeds and fight for my place and continue to be part of what is a brilliant dressing room, which we currently have.”
