THOMAS CHRISTIANSEN: WE KNEW HOW DIFFICULT IT WAS GOING TO BE

Head coach on Hull City point.

Leeds United head coach Thomas Christiansen spoke exclusively to LUTV following Tuesday’s 0-0 draw with Hull City.

The Whites picked up a point at the KCOM Stadium in the Sky Bet Championship, after an impressive goalkeeping display from Felix Wiedwald.

Christiansen was satisfied with the point on the road and also spoke about how the injuries and suspensions are having an impact on his side.

“I believe that the one point that we took is a good one,” said Christiansen.

“We came to get the three points, but we knew how difficult it was going to be.

“I said in my press conference about what we could expect from the game and it was exactly what we saw, long passes to Jackson Irvine and flick-ons to the striker Nouha Dicko and it was difficult to defend.

“In the opening stages Conor Shaughnessy got injured and we had to change our plans, but the courage the players showed was very good.

“Felix did well and made some good saves, unfortunately when we speak well of the goalkeeper it is because he had a lot of action and we want to avoid that.

“Felix though kept a clean sheet, good saves and helped us come out of the game with one point.

“Now we have to focus on our next game, which will be a tough game against another opponent in the top six.

“We will go for the three points as always and hopefully we will be able to recover some of the players who are injured.

“It is clear we are not in a good moment with the results, but we have also had bad luck with the injuries.

“On Monday before we travelled to Hull, we had a problem with Matthew Pennington who got injured and normally in this position he would play, but we hope he will be available for Saturday.”
