1) Laurens De Bock was born on Saturday 7^th November 1992 in Dendermonde, Belgium. He shares the same birthday as former Leeds United defender Rio Ferdinand (1978), and former striker Aiden Butterworth (1961).

2) At the age of 5, De Bock joined local youth side HO Kalken, where he would spend 3 years before switching to neighbouring side Standaard Wetteren.

3) At the age of 11, De Bock was scouted and signed by KSC Lokeren, which has developed Belgian Internationals including Jelle Van Damme, Tjörven De Brul and Nill De Pauw

4) During the 2009/10 season, De Bock made his debut for Emilio Ferrera’s Lokeren side, going on to make 5 appearances in the league over the rest of the campaign.

5) Becoming a mainstay in the Lokeren defence between 2009 and 2013, he would help the club lift the Belgian Cup in 2012, playing all 90 minutes of the final against Kortrijk.

6) After making 90 appearances for Lokeren, Laurens De Bock was sold to Juan Carlos Garrido’s Club Brugge for a transfer fee of 3.5 million euros. The side featured players including Ryan Donk (West Brom), Carl Hoefkens (Stoke), Thomas Meunier (PSG), and Eiður Guðjohnsen (Barcelona).

7) During the 2014/15 season, De Bock would win his second Belgian Cup, as Club Brugge beat Anderlecht 2-1 at the King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels

8) The following season, De Bock was a regular starter in the Club Brugge side that won the Belgian Pro League. The side would add a further trophy to the cabinet, when they defeated Standard Liege 2-1 to lift the Belgian Super Cup.

9) Between 2008 and 2014, De Bock has represented Belgium national team on a number of levels (U16, U17, U18, U19 and U21), and has been called up to the senior squad on three occasions.

10) On Thursday 11^th January 2018, Laurens De Bock became Leeds United’s new number 12, following in the footsteps of players such as Carl Shutt, Eddie Gray, Gordon Strachan and John Pemberton.
