THOMAS CHRISTIANSEN: WE CREATED CLEAR OPPORTUNITIES

Head coach on Forest draw.

Leeds United head coach Thomas Christiansen spoke exclusively to LUTV following the New Year’s Day draw with Nottingham Forest.

The Whites were held to a 0-0 draw at Elland Road by the Reds, in what was a frustrating start to 2018.

Christiansen was disappointed his side were unable to get more out of the game, being left to rue missed chances.

“I am happy with the performance, we only took one point when we deserved all three of them,” said Christiansen.

“We created clear opportunities, where the Nottingham goalkeeper made some very good saves.

“I cannot complain, we tried for 90 minutes to take the three points, but Nottingham did what they had to do in a difficult game for them, they came for a point and they got that.

“Against Hull, we didn’t play half as well as we did against Nottingham and managed to get the win, but this is football, when you don’t take your opportunities it is difficult to win.

“When we played in the Forest half we created many chances, Samuel Saiz always creates something when he receives the ball, Kemar Roofe and Pablo Hernandez both had chances and it is a shame we couldn’t take the three points, because the players deserved that.

“We had the header at the end and Roofe and Pontus Jansson both went close in the first half, we did enough to take the three points.”
