PABLO HERNANDEZ: I THOUGHT WE DESERVED THREE POINTS

Spaniard on Forest draw.

Leeds United midfielder Pablo Hernandez felt the Whites did enough to win the New Year’s Day clash with Nottingham Forest.

United went into the game with back to back victories at Elland Road, but were held to a goal-less draw against the Reds.

The match is the second consecutive game United have failed to score, but Hernandez felt opportunities should have been taken.

“I thought we deserved the three points, we had many chances, but we couldn’t find the back of the net,” said Hernandez.

“This is football, sometimes you don’t win games when you deserve to, we gave our all on the pitch and tried to win the game.

“It is important to carry on as we have done, because if we play like we did against Nottingham Forest, we will continue to win games in the future.

“In the first half we had one or two chances, in the second half we had control, we kept going and pushed, but we couldn’t get the goal.

“I had a chance which was similar to the one I had against Birmingham, I controlled the ball and tried to put the ball to the other side of the goalkeeper, but he went to the floor and saved the ball with his foot.

“On another day it would have gone in, when I touched the ball, I thought I had scored, but the goalkeeper made the save and now it counts for nothing.

“I think the most important thing is that we made chances, if we had not have created chances then there would have been a problem.

“We had four or five clear chances, but it just didn’t happen for us.

“We have time to rest now, in the last week we’ve played four games, we now have an FA Cup game on Sunday and we have time to recover.
