PABLO HERNANDEZ: IT WAS AN INCREDIBLE ATMOSPHERE

Playmaker on Hull City win.

Leeds United midfielder Pablo Hernandez was thrilled with Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Hull City.

The Whites moved back into the Play-Off places in time for Christmas with the win at Elland Road.

Hernandez’s spectacular goal in the 29th minute secured Leeds all three points and he spoke us though the goal and his thoughts on the game.

“I didn’t have too much time to think about it,” admitted Hernandez.

“My first instinct was to shoot one side, but I saw the goalkeeper off his line by a few metres, so I tried and it was a perfect finish.

“It was important for me after my injury, I played 20 minutes in the last game and I’ve now played 90 minutes and it was even more important for the team, as with this goal we won the three points.

“We knew before the game that if we won, we would be in the Play-Off places after playing everyone once, which was very important for us.

“I don’t think it was the best game for us, but the team showed fight and worked hard for 95 minutes to win the match.

“I’d also like to thank the fans, it was an incredible atmosphere in Elland Road, with our fans we play with 12 men, it is unbelievable.”

The Whites now travel to Burton Albion and Birmingham City over the next week, before facing Nottingham Forest back at Elland Road on New Year’s Day.

“In front of us, we have three games in a week and it is important for us to take good results, we want to win all of the games, but we know it is very difficult,” said Hernandez.

“We have two away games in front of us, they are tough matches, but if the team fight, like we did against Hull, we can win these games.
