The two sides last met in our final home game of the 2016/17 season at Elland Road, when the Whites fought back from a 3-0 deficit to draw 3-3, but United who needed to win, saw their Play-Off hopes shattered.  Steven Naismith’s opener was followed by a brace from Nelson Oliveira put the Canaries in control.  Chris Wood gave Leeds hope in first half stoppage time, before Kyle Bartley pulled back another goal four minutes into the second half.  Pablo Hernandez then netted a fine free-kick to level and Naismith saw red as the Whites pushed for a winner, but were unable to get one.

Team news

Whites midfielder Eunan O’Kane returned for Leeds in the 3-1 victory over Queens Park Rangers, after missing the previous Championship fixture with Aston Villa through injury.  Caleb Ekuban had to be withdrawn after picking up a knock at Loftus Road, whilst Stuart Dallas, Pablo Hernandez and Pierre-Michel Lasogga all missed the trip to London and Thomas Christiansen is likely to reveal whether they will be back in contention during his Friday press conference.  For Norwich, James Husband, Matt Jarvis, Remi Matthews, Steven Naismith and Louis Thompson all missed out in last week’s victory over Sheffield Wednesday through injury.  Alex Pritchard however made his first start of the season and former Barnsley man Marley Watkins returned as a half time substitute.

The key battle

Kemar Roofe v Grant Hanley

United striker Roofe netted a hat-trick in last week’s 3-1 victory over Queens Park Rangers and will be looking to continue where he left off at Loftus Road against Norwich City.  Roofe is now the top goal scorer in the Championship for the Whites and has nine goals in all competitions this season.  The man tasked with stopping Roofe will be Norwich centre back Hanley.  The former Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United defender signed for the Canaries over the summer from St James’ Park and is likely to have a busy afternoon at Elland Road.
