CALEB EKUBAN: WE DON’T CARE WHO IS IN FRONT OF US

Striker on Molinuex trip.

Leeds United striker Caleb Ekuban spoke to the press ahead of Wednesday’s visit to Molinuex to take on Wolves in the Sky Bet Championship.

The forward made his first Leeds appearance since suffering an injury against Sunderland in August, coming off the bench in the 2-1 victory over Middlesbrough on Sunday.

Ekuban admitted it has been a frustrating time on the sidelines and how he is pleased to be back as he looks to help Leeds climb back into the Play-Off places with another victory in midweek.

“It was a nice day to come back on Sunday and see my team achieve the three points as I did it, everything went great,” said Ekuban.

“It was difficult being injured but this is part of football, you just have to set your mind and be focused on getting back as soon as you can and that is what I tried to do.

“We have a great physio team here, who have helped me with everything and now I am back and feel like I always did.

“I was prepared to be called upon at the weekend, I just wanted to get on and try and help the team as much as I could.

“We went out there and wanted to show everyone that we are far better than our recent results, we went out there, battled, worked as a unite, played a good match and got the three points.

“It seems that we are the team to beat everywhere we go, everybody is against us, but we are prepared for that.

“Wolves are a great team, but we are only focused on our own journey, we started with Middlesbrough and we have Wolves next.

“We don’t care who is in front of us, we just want to play, perform and try to take the points.

“I believe we are one of the best teams in the league and I think we can achieve as much as the team wants to.

“If we play as a unit, as we did in the last match, then we are capable of beating anybody.”
