THOMAS CHRISTIANSEN: WE BELIEVED

Head coach on Sunday’s victory.

Leeds United head coach Thomas Chrisitiansen spoke exclusively to LUTV following Sunday’s 2-1 victory over Middlesbrough at Elland Road.

The Whites got back to winning ways in the Sky Bet Championship following the international break, ending a run of four defeats in a row.

After a tough period of results, Christiansen was delighted at the showing of his side and the victory.

“The three points were important and the team played very good,” said Christiansen.

“We have worked hard over the past two weeks and we believed we would take the three points, which we did.

“It was a good performance, we all needed to take responsibility including myself, but we knew we could beat this big team and I am very pleased with the win.

“Everyone did what they had to do, we showed character, controlled the game and deserved the victory, we were better than Middlesbrough in this game.

“I am very satisfied with how the players responded on the pitch, they understood the messages I gave them and in this sense it was perfect.

“All of the games are difficult now, on Wednesday we will come up against probably the strongest team in this league.

“We will go there with the same mentality though as we had against Middlesbrough, but we know there are still things that we must improve on and learn from.”
